Travel and Get Fit: Our Top 3 Fitness Destinations for This Summer

Sun rays, white sand, and beautiful bodies are all we need to have a good summer. Why stay home when the weather is so nice? The time is ripe for traveling but with traveling, we often put on a few pounds. What if our travels were fitness vacations? We did some research and compiled a list of great healthy summer vacation ideas with fun things to do to combine your healthy lifestyle with leisure. Pack your suitcase and don’t forget your suntan lotion and weighted jump rope, because these destinations are jam packed with serene backdrops and a lifestyle with great summer activities to keep you in shape, while becoming acculturated.

When we think of Thailand, we normally think of the tea beverage named after its people – thai tea. Well Thailand is also the spiritual home of Muay Thai – a form of martial arts that is very popular in mixed martial arts (think UFC). At Tiger Muay Thai in beautiful Phuket, classes are offered for beginners to seasoned fighters over a seven day package that sees you training for 5 hours a day – great for weight loss or honing in on skills. Guests can either stay in basic bungalows or in an upscale hotel. Food and other amenties are offered, such as Thai meals made by world renowned chef Cheffy Baby. Without airfare, the deluxe training package is around $500.

Peru is more than lomo saltado dishes – it’s a great destination to hone in on the mind and body.
